Whether students dream of a career on stage or simply want to build confidence, creativity and discipline, our courses help every young performer to thrive.
-
At Hammond Extra, training follows a three-term structure:
Training Term (Autumn): Building strong technique, skills and confidence.
Creating Term (Spring): Developing original work, stories and ideas under professional guidance.
Performing Term (Summer): Sharing what’s been learned through studio sharings and end-of-year showcases.
This structure allows students to progress naturally through each stage of the creative process — from learning, to making, to performing.
-
Part-Time Courses (Sundays): Weekly sessions in Acting, Musical Theatre and Dance, grouped by age and ability.
Holiday Courses: Intensive one-to-five-day projects during Autumn, Spring &, Summer, open to all young performers. Residential available.
Private Lessons: One-to-one sessions in singing, acting or dance for focused, individual development.
Outreach Programme: Workshops and enrichment sessions delivered in schools across the North West, helping more young people access the arts.
Progression: Many Hammond Extra students go on to full-time study at The Hammond. Others discover a lifelong passion for performance and creativity. Whatever their next step, Hammond Extra ensures they leave more confident, capable and connected than when they arrived.
-
We believe that high-quality performing arts training should be accessible, inclusive and inspiring. Every session encourages students to express themselves, collaborate creatively, and gain valuable skills that go far beyond the studio.
-
Experience: We create a safe and supportive space where students can explore and grow.
Expression: Every student is encouraged to develop their unique artistic voice.
Expertise: Our faculty consists of working professionals who bring real-world knowledge into the classroom.
Excellence: We challenge students to strive for the highest quality in their work and personal development.

Testimonials
-
“An absolutely brilliant course- thank you! My daughter came nervous and unsure of herself, worried about being compared to others but from Callum’s introduction, it was clear she would be alright. Every week, she’s come away exhausted, pushed, improved, more confident and knows that she benefited for every second of the three hours. It has been the best experience, and she has come on immensely. Thank you!!”
-
"Absolutely amazing show of work!!! Daisy has loved the 10wks of young creative dance! Her confidence, skills, exposure to new dance has been amazing to watch today along with the other dancers. This is the second course Daisy has done with you, and she loves coming to the Hammond. Thank you, Callum, for all your hard work and please pass on our thanks to your amazing team of teachers! Keep on doing what you're doing!"
