Acting & Musical Theatre (11 - 16)

What is AMT?

Our Acting & Musical Theatre course for Years 7–11 is designed for young people who are passionate about performance, creativity and storytelling. Alongside a rich academic education, students receive specialist vocational training in Acting for Stage & Screen and Musical Theatre Performance, developing their skills through classes in acting, improvisation, voice, movement, singing, dance and musicianship. With small class sizes and expert tuition, every student is encouraged to grow as a confident, versatile and expressive performer.

Why study on this course?

While performance is at the heart of the course, the impact extends far beyond the stage. Threaded through every aspect of the programme is the development of transferable life skills including collaboration, communication, resilience, creativity and self-confidence.

Through creating, rehearsing and performing together, students learn to think independently, work effectively as part of a team and embrace challenges with determination—equipping them with the skills to thrive both within the performing arts and in whatever path they choose to pursue in the future.

What does an average week of AMT look like?

The truth is that there is no such thing as an average week on AMT. Whether rehearsing for a major production or performing in the community, there is always something exciting and challenging happening. In amongst that, students experience a packed and fast moving academic and vocational curriculum throughout each day.

The days are long and the expectations of the students are high, but those expectations are never about being ‘the best’ but instead are always about being ‘your best!’.
