We are seeking a passionate and experienced Ballet Teacher to join our Dance faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality ballet training to students across The Hammond. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the artistic and professional development of aspiring dancers within a vibrant and supportive environment.

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

In liaison with other faculty members, develop and implement a comprehensive ballet curriculum in alignment with industry standards.
Plan and deliver engaging and dynamic classes, workshops, and rehearsals for students across different skill levels on all courses.
Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students to facilitate their technical and artistic growth.
Choreograph original pieces for performances, showcases, and competitions.
Collaborate with other choreographers and dance staff to integrate ballet training into interdisciplinary projects and productions.
Stay informed about current trends, techniques, and developments in dance through continuous professional development and research.
Support and participate in school events, performances, and extracurricular activities as needed.

To ensure health and safety procedures and safeguards are always observed.
To attend meetings, INSET, Open Days, and other events.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
• A relevant teaching qualification or professional experience.
• Experience as a Ballet teacher.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with staff collaboratively and effectively.
• Understanding of key teaching and learning strategies in the classroom and studio within a vocational setting.
• Good at problem solving and being adaptable
Desirable:
• A good understanding in the RAD syllabus (vocational levels) or willingness to learn and deliver these if required.

• To work with the Vice Principal (Director of Vocational Training) in the implementation of the musical provision across The Hammond.
• To musically direct productions across all courses at The Hammond
• To prepare and rehearse students for productions, assessments, internal and external auditions
• To produce any backing tracks/click tracks or arrange music that may support students and productions – specifically for graduate showcase.
• To use music technology to edit music for productions.
• To teach classes in ensemble singing and assist with the teaching of classes in Acting Through Song and Integrated Musical Theatre classes.
• To assist in the design and delivery of the vocal curriculum for the Diploma courses
• To develop and improve the quality of vocal repertoire amongst students to ensure all students meet industry standards and expectations
• To develop and expand students’ understanding of musical theatre repertoire
• To accompany any other musical theatre classes as required
• To collaborate and share good practice within the department.
Personal Specification
• Relevant qualifications in music, singing or associated study, or professional industry experience
• Experienced MD who can conduct full scale productions
• Proficient with Logic, Mainstage and QLab (Essential)
• Teaching experience (desirable)
• Accomplished pianist and competent sight reader (Essential)
• A secure knowledge of Musical Theatre and Pop/Rock repertoire (Desirable)
• Some knowledge of vocal anatomy and vocal function (Desirable)
• Industry experience (Desirable)
